HRC or High Rupture Capacity fuses can and often do contain asbestos.

Where the fuse is intact and not broken, the risk of exposure to the asbestos within the fuse is negligible if at all.

 

The main issue encountered is disposing of these fuses at their end of life.

We MUST prevent these fuses getting into the waste stream as a recycled product as this would put workers at recycling plants at risk of exposure and would potentially contaminate recycling equipment and materials.
